From James from Paoli hospital --> Please continue to pray for Lynne and our immediate/extended family. This week has already become even more difficult than we anticipated. Today was our first meeting with our oncologist, and we received confirmation of what we suspected - the diagnosis is stage 4 adenocarcinoma of unknown origin. It is stage 4 because the cancer has already metastasized to at least two places (sternum/bone and liver/soft tissue). Detection of the liver growths are based on an ultrasound and CT scan - and are expected to be confirmed via PET scan this Wednesday. The PET scan, along with some blood work and other tests, is expected to provide a solid basis for a treatment plan.
After a few days of significant discomfort from the surgical biopsy, Lynne dramatically improved during our week in Michigan. We went from being concerned that we might run out of pain medication while away from home to relying only on Advil - or even nothing at all at times. However, since we traveled home on Friday some sternum pain had returned and has been slowly increasing in intensity. This afternoon at about 4:30pm Lynne had intense pain in her sternum area – to the point where we had to call for an ambulance. She is resting peacefully now and is being kept overnight at the hospital. We will meet with the oncologist again in the morning.
Jesus please help Lynne and James and Bethany and Ryan and all the extended love ones as they walk through this. We need You..Your presence, peace, strength and comfort to deal with each moment of each day. Please open our eyes to see You in this very dark time. Thank you you are able to deliver and heal. Help us to trust you.
ReplyDeleteLord, i thank You that this is not a surprise to You. i thank You that in the midst of this increasingly terrifying time, You can be trusted, and that You can provide James, Lynne, Ryan and Bethany PEACE that passes understanding. Help them to keep their minds stayed on You, and to know that You are carrying them and are aware of their distress.
ReplyDeleteComfort them with the knowledge that Your mercies are NEW EVERY morning, and that Your faithfulness is GREAT.
Help us to remember them and lift them before You as we go throughout each day. Thank You that we can RUN to You with everything, and cast ALL our cares on You because You CARE for us.

Dear Father,
ReplyDeleteNot a sparrow falls that You are not aware; how much more the lives of your precious children. I pray each of their moments will be filled with your Presence, that those caring for Lynne will see your image stamped on her and that You will minister your love and grace to this family. Increase their trust in You when they are afraid, provide healing to Lynne's body which You have knit together and know completely. Be their shelter, refuge and peace.
